The sewing community is full of talented, generous makers who share their knowledge and creativity freely. Over the years I've discovered so many wonderful blogs that have taught me new techniques, introduced me to patterns I love, and made me feel part of something bigger. Here are some of my favorites — I hope you'll find a new favorite here, too.
Sewing & Pattern Blogs
-
Made for Mermaids
Megan and Cindy create beautiful, modern sewing patterns for women and children. Their Kelli Kimono is a family favorite around here — both Lucy and Ella have worn theirs to pieces. I was thrilled to join their Back to School Blog Tour in 2016.
-
Patterns for Pirates
Judy's patterns are fun, fast, and designed for real life. I've sewn several of her designs and always appreciate the supportive community around her brand.
-
Project Run and Play
A sewing competition and community that celebrates children's fashion. I've followed along with their seasons and was honored to be featured among their participants.
-
MissyBStitchin
Melissa creates gorgeous in-the-hoop embroidery designs. We teamed up for an Easter give-a-way featuring her sweet egg zippered purse design, and I've admired her work ever since.
Craft & DIY Favorites
-
SYTYC (So You Think You're Crafty)
A friendly craft competition blog where makers go head-to-head with creative projects. I was lucky enough to be featured and discovered so many talented crafters through their seasons.
-
Sew Americana Blog Tour
Each summer, this tour brings together sewists from across the country to celebrate patriotic and summer-themed sewing. I joined in June 2016 and loved seeing everyone's red, white, and blue creations.
More Inspiration
Beyond these, I'm always discovering new blogs through sew-a-longs, pattern releases, and the generous folks who leave comments here. If you have a blog you think I'd love, please stop by the Guest Book and share it — I'm always looking for fresh inspiration!
